About Khazzan Hot Pressed GRP Sectional Tanks
Khazzan hot pressed GRP sectional panel water tanks are built around clean, hygienic, non-leaking water storage. The panels are moulded from glass fibre reinforced plastic under high temperature and pressure, then assembled on site with sealed joints.
A sectional tank is built from separate panels bolted together on site. That makes it practical for basements, plant rooms and rooftops where a one-piece tank cannot be delivered, and it lets the tank be sized and shaped to fit the available space.

Quality Certification
Management systems
The panels are produced by a manufacturer certified to ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management for the design, development, manufacture and service of GRP water tank products.
Water quality
The panel material is listed as WRAS approved material under the UK Water Regulations Advisory Scheme.
Certification details are taken from the manufacturer's documentation. Ask us for the current certificates for your project.
Characteristics of Hot Pressed GRP Sectional Tanks
Strength and Durability
Glass fibre reinforced panels are moulded under high temperature and pressure for maximum endurance. Stainless steel is used for the internal structure and hot dip galvanised steel for the outside, giving strong resistance to corrosion.
Excellent Hygiene
The panels do not corrode, and because outside light is blocked, bacterial growth inside the tank is prevented.
Heat Insulation and Condensation Control
A 3-layer insulated panel improves heat insulation, protects the tank from condensation on the outside, and keeps the temperature of the stored water more stable.
Watertightness
Joints are sealed with a special sealing tape developed for water tanks.
Dimensional Accuracy
Panel sizes do not change with outside conditions, so the tank assembles accurately on site.
Flexible Capacity Design
Panels in various sizes make the best use of limited space, so the tank can be built to fit a confined room.
Easy Assembly and Transport
Sectional panels shorten construction time. Standardised panels are easy to move, carry in and transfer to the installation room.

Heat Insulation
The insulated panel has a 3-layer structure that improves heat insulation, protects the outside of the tank from condensation, and minimises temperature variation of the stored water. The insulation cover has cloth attached on the inside, so the insulation stays bonded to the panel and keeps its shape over the long term. The foam core is 25 to 40 mm thick.
Effect of heat

Thermal conductivity (kcal/m hr deg C)
| Steel | 37.0 |
| GRP (standard) | 0.15 |
| GRP (insulated) | 0.02 |
Insulated GRP conducts far less heat than standard GRP, and standard GRP far less than steel, which is why insulated panels keep stored water at a steadier temperature.

Panel Joint and Corner Detail

Partition Type Water Tank
A partition tank removes unusable space and makes the most of the room. It is economical and effective for maintenance.
Maximum capacity use
In a basement or other confined area, a partition tank removes unusable space and uses the whole room.
Various uses
One section can hold drinking water and the other service water, for example for fire fighting.
Easy maintenance
Two tanks are managed as one unit.
Cost effective
The cost and installation of one partition tank is lower than two individual tanks.
Example
If two tanks for different uses are needed in a confined room, a 16 ton partition tank can give 8 tons for drinking water and 8 tons for service water. If separate tanks were used instead, only two tanks of up to 6 tons each would fit, because a 1 m gap is needed between tanks for maintenance and operation.

Preparation for Installation
Base Concrete Plinth Standards
| Width | 300 to 400 mm |
| Outer dimension | Tank width and length plus 400 mm |
| Height | Over 600 mm (base frame included) |
| Spacing | Less than 1 m |
| Levelness | Less than 1/500 (surface must be flat and level) |

Installation Space
For maintenance and repair, leave at least 600 mm from the wall and 1,000 mm from the ceiling of the tank room. The example below is a 3 m wide, 4 m long, 2 m high tank.

Installation Scope
Base concrete plinth
The customer prepares the base concrete to the design specification and site strength. Anchor bolts are fixed by the installer. The base concrete must have a strength of at least 180 kg/cm2, and the mortar layer must not exceed 20 mm.
Extent of installation work
If the customer specifies socket sizes for plumbing, the installer fits the sockets. After that, the plumbing and heat insulation are done by the customer.
Installation space
Leave about 600 mm in each direction around the tank for maintenance.
Caution
Transportation
Do not place heavy loads or force on the panels during transport. Cushion any part touched by rope or other cargo.
Pipe installation
Do not put heavy weight on pipes connected to the fitting. Start pipe installation from the tank side and avoid unbalanced weight on the fitting. Take care to avoid fire or other accidents while welding.
Maintenance
If the tank will not be used for a long time, drain the water. Because the tank stores water for consumption, inspect it regularly, more than twice a year.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hot pressed GRP sectional panel water tank?
It is a water storage tank assembled on site from flat glass reinforced plastic panels that have been moulded under high temperature and pressure. The panels are bolted together with sealing tape at the joints, which makes the tank watertight and lets it be built to almost any size and shape.
Who manufactures these panel tanks?
Khazzan supplies these hot pressed GRP sectional panel tanks under its own name, sourced from a manufacturer certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Khazzan handles quotations and delivery in the UAE.
What panel sizes are available?
Standard wall panels include 1000 x 2000, 500 x 2000, 1000 x 1500, 500 x 1500, 1000 x 1000, 300 x 1000, 500 x 1000 and 500 x 500 mm, with matching bottom, roof, drain and manhole panels. Panel shapes can change without notice.
How tall can a panel tank be built?
The side panels are combined to give water heights from 1 m to 5 m in 0.5 m steps.
What is the difference between internal and external reinforcement?
An internal reinforcement system uses stainless steel stays and brackets inside the tank. An external system uses no internal reinforcement parts up to a water height of 3 m, which prevents rust and makes cleaning easier, and optimises the internal parts above 3.5 m.
Are insulated panels available?
Yes. The insulated panel has a 3-layer structure with a rigid polyurethane foam core of 25 to 40 mm. It reduces condensation on the tank and limits temperature changes in the stored water. Panels are also available non-insulated.
How well does the insulated panel insulate compared with steel?
The manufacturer lists thermal conductivity of 37.0 for steel, 0.15 for standard GRP and 0.02 for insulated GRP, in kcal/m hr deg C.
What is a partition type water tank?
A partition tank splits one tank into two compartments, for example one for drinking water and one for service water such as fire fighting. In a confined room it uses space more efficiently than two separate tanks, which need a 1 m maintenance gap between them, and it is cheaper to build and install.
What water temperature and dust conditions is the tank designed for?
The design standards state suitability for water up to 50 degrees C and dusty environments up to 70 mg/m3.
What base does the tank need?
A flat, level concrete plinth, 300 to 400 mm wide, at least 600 mm high including the base frame, with the surface level to within 1/500. The base concrete must have a strength of at least 180 kg/cm2, and the mortar layer must not exceed 20 mm.
How much space should be left around the tank?
Leave at least 600 mm from the walls and 1,000 mm from the ceiling of the tank room for maintenance and repair.
How often should the tank be inspected?
The manufacturer recommends regular inspection, more than twice a year, because the tank stores water for consumption. If the tank will be unused for a long time, drain it.
Is the tank food grade and suitable for drinking water?
The panels are made without toxic content and the manufacturer lists nil toxicity and nil microbiological growth, and the panel material is WRAS approved. Confirm current certificates for your project when you request a quotation.
