Is tap water safe to drink in the UAE?
UAE tap water leaves the desalination plant treated to drinking standards. The usual problems start after that: rooftop and underground tanks, old building pipes and chlorine taste. A kitchen RO unit deals with all three at the point you actually drink from.
Which water filter is best for a Dubai apartment?
For most apartments, an under-sink RO with a mineral or alkaline stage is the best value. If you rent and cannot drill cabinets, choose the standing hot and cold RO dispenser. Add a shower filter if chlorine dries your skin or hair.
Do I need a whole-house filter for my villa?
If your villa stores water in a rooftop or underground tank, a whole-house filter at the main inlet protects every tap, shower, heater and washing machine. Add the UV stage when the tank is old or not cleaned regularly.
Does RO remove minerals from water?
Yes, reverse osmosis removes almost everything, including minerals. All our RO units except the basic one add calcium and magnesium back in a mineral stage, so the water tastes softer and less flat.
How often do filters need changing?
Sediment and carbon filters every 6 to 12 months, the RO membrane every 2 to 3 years, UV lamps yearly and shower cartridges every 3 to 4 months. An AMC plan takes care of this so you never have to track it.
