Installation Guidelines
Excavate to tank height plus 300 mm for a compacted base layer
Lay a 200 mm compacted sand or pea gravel bed - never bare rock or hard fill
Lower tank into position using lifting lugs - do not use rope through the manhole
Back-fill with sand or pea gravel in 300 mm lifts, compacting each layer
Do not use heavy plant machinery directly over the buried tank
Inlet and outlet connections to be made with flexible couplings
Install a vent pipe of minimum 50 mm dia open to atmosphere above ground
Cover the manhole lid at the surface with a traffic-rated frame if in a road or driveway
